Privacy Statement
This privacy statement sets out how The Body Clinic may collect and use information about you throughout our website.
Submitting your contact details
Various forms on our site invite you to submit your contact details and other information about yourself or to send us emails which will, of course, also identify you.
What information do we collect?
We may collect, store and use the following kinds of personal data about you (a) information about your visits to and use of our website; (b) information about any transactions carried out between you and us on or in relation to our website, including information relating to any purchases you make of our goods or services; (c) information that you provide to us via telephone or this website for the purpose of registering with us and/or subscribing to our website services and/or email notifications; and (d) information during any telephone call with us which may be used for quality and statistical purposes.
How we use this information
In each case, the purpose for which you are invited to give us information is clear and we also indicate which of the requested information is essential for the relevant purpose and which is optional; fields for essential information are marked with an asterisk. The information that we require is used to (a) process your request quickly and accurately; (b) from time to time send you information from The Body Clinic that may be of interest to you; (c) provide other companies with statistical information about visitors to our website – but this information will not be used to identify any individual user.
IP addresses
We monitor visits to our website by recording the IP address (a unique number which identifies your computer and its location on the internet, the length of visit and number of page views) of visitors to our site. This is principally so that we can make sure that it is easy to navigate, identify the areas that are of particular interest to visitors and generally improve the website and our services. The information that we collect in this process will not identify you as an individual, unless, of course, you volunteer your contact details through one of the forms on the site. If you do not fill out a form, you can browse our site without entering any personal information, and therefore remain anonymous during your visit.
Cookies
Our websites uses cookies (small data files which are downloaded to your computer) so that we can recognise that your computer has visited our website before and to improve your experience of our website, for example, by allowing the website to remember your bookmarks and passwords for you so you don't have to re-enter them each time you visit the website. You can if you wish set your Internet browser so that it will not automatically download cookies; this may impair your use of our website. The exact steps necessary to block cookies vary from browser to browser. Please note that if certain cookies that track your details are rejected then we won't be able to pre-fill any data on the website (which you will have to re-enter) or direct you to the correct stage on your next visit.
Links to other websites
The website contains, or may from time to time contain, links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy statements or policies of third party websites or their content. For the avoidance of doubt our policy statement does not apply to these linked sites.
Security of Personal Information
We will take reasonable precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information. However, data transmission over the internet is inherently insecure and we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the internet. In addition, notwithstanding the security of your personal information, we may disclose information about you (a) to the extent that we are required to do so by law or any court; (b) in order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights (including providing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention and reducing credit risk); (c) where required to do so by any regulatory, governmental or other authority; and (d) to the buyer or seller (or prospective buyer or seller) of any business which we are (or are contemplating) buying or selling .
