Treatable Areas
Smartlipo fat removal has been designed to treat localised pockets of fat e.g. love handles, double chins, inner thighs, outer thighs, hips, bottoms, upper arms, face, male breast.
How It Works
The areas to be treated are marked out before they are numbed with local anaesthetic. The laser is guided slowly through the treatment area by our specialist doctor surgeon, heating the fat cells causing them to break down. The fat deposits are flushed out naturally by the body’s lymphatic system. Only a very small incision is required for this treatment with very few side effects. There should be no bruising and you will be wide awake and pain free. You will need to wear a special compression garment for up to a couple of weeks after the procedure depending on the area treated.

Is the treatment for me?
The ideal patient is one who is in good health with an active lifestyle and has a pocket of fat they wish to remove, but who is otherwise not overweight. It is not suitable for those with diabetes, liver problems, blood disorders or kidney problems. It is safe for any adult of any age.

When will I see results?
Initial results will be visible fairly quickly, the final result being apparent after three to four months.
How long is the recovery time?
The patient can return to their normal activities almost immediately after the procedure, although it is advisable to avoid strenuous sports and sauna for two weeks and intense massage for four to five weeks.
